About CRIMENET

Crime Pays. Bad Journalism Doesn't.

CRIMENET is an independent gaming publication dedicated to the darker side of interactive entertainment.

While most gaming websites are busy saving kingdoms, protecting humanity, and awarding another 9/10 to the latest open-world collectathon, we're far more interested in what happens when you rob the bank, join the cult, become the monster, or accidentally overthrow civilization for personal profit.

Our editorial focus is built around four pillars:

  • Crime games

  • Heist games

  • Games where you meaningfully play as the villain

  • Horror games with distinctive mechanics, atmosphere, or memorable antagonists

If a game lets you build a criminal empire, execute the perfect robbery, terrorize innocent villagers, or survive something that definitely shouldn't exist, there's a good chance we're interested.

What We Publish

CRIMENET covers a mix of reviews, strategy guides, opinion pieces, rankings, and news focused on games that fit our editorial niche.

You'll regularly find:

  • Game reviews and Quick Verdicts

  • GTA Online money guides and weekly updates

  • Crime and heist game recommendations

  • Villain and antagonist features

  • Horror coverage

  • Long-form opinion and analysis

Every article exists to answer a simple question:

Would a CRIMENET reader actually care about this?

Popularity alone isn't enough.

Independent Editorial

CRIMENET is independently owned and operated.

Our opinions aren't for sale.

Receiving a review key, preview access, or other press material never guarantees coverage or influences our verdicts.

If a game deserves praise, we'll say so.

If a game wastes your time, we'll say that too.

Sometimes enthusiastically.

Accuracy Matters

Gaming changes constantly.

Updates, patches, balance changes, and new content can quickly make older information outdated.

When important facts change, we update our guides and articles whenever practical.

If we make a factual mistake, we'll correct it.

Fictional Worlds Only

CRIMENET covers fictional video games.

Articles discussing crime, robbery, villains, gangs, monsters, horror, or other mature themes refer exclusively to fictional entertainment unless clearly stated otherwise.

Nothing published by CRIMENET should be interpreted as encouraging, promoting, or instructing real-world criminal activity.

Our interest is in game design, storytelling, player choice, and entertainment.

Not actual crime.

Our Philosophy

Gaming journalism doesn't have to choose between being useful and having a personality.

Our goal is simple:

  • Answer the question quickly.

  • Explain the important details clearly.

  • Back opinions with evidence.

  • Make the reader laugh at least once if the game deserves it.

Because if an article can help you decide whether a game is worth your time while also roasting a terrible mechanic into next Tuesday, everybody wins.

Except the terrible mechanic.
