Dead by Daylight Is Retiring Chucky, but the Little Bastard Refuses to Leave

Chucky is leaving Dead by Daylight on November 24, 2026, but existing owners get to keep him. Everyone else loses the opportunity to purchase him after 17:00 Brussels time (11 AM ET). His cosmetics also disappear from sale, but his three Killer perk effects remain available to everyone under new names. So unless you actually want to play as the murderous little bastard, there's no reason to panic-buy him.

Chucky's perks are surviving, but the rest of the Killer perk roster isn't exactly standing still. See what changed with Dark Arrogance in patch 10.2.2, including why successfully stabbing someone is finally considered worthy of a reward.

What happens to Chucky after November 24?

Behaviour Interactive is removing Chucky from sale, not deleting him from the game. Existing owners retain his Killer Power, progression, Bloodweb, Add-ons and purchased cosmetics. They can continue playing and levelling him normally. Players who miss the deadline, however, won't be able to purchase him afterward under Behaviour's announced plans.

Here's exactly what changes:

Content

Non-owners after deadline

Chucky as playable Killer

Killer Power

Three Killer perk effects

Retained

Available as general perks

Purchased outfits

No new purchases

Prestige cosmetics and perk charms

Bloodweb and Add-ons

Achievements

Progress retained

Converted to generic achievements

Essentially, Chucky is becoming a members-only murderer. The doors close on November 24, but everyone already inside gets to keep their knife. Remarkably civilised for a doll whose entire personality revolves around stabbing people.

Chucky's three Killer perks aren't disappearing

This is the important bit if you don't particularly care about playing Chucky himself. His three unique perks will remain available through the general Killer perk pool, retaining their gameplay effects under different names.

Original Chucky perk

New general perk

Hex: Two Can Play

Hex: Eye For An Eye

Friends 'Til the End

One Track Mind

Batteries Included

Gaining Steam

Existing owners can continue unlocking Chucky's original perks through his Bloodweb, complete with their original names and descriptions. Everyone else can unlock the renamed versions without purchasing him. They won't automatically arrive at maximum tier, but the effects remain obtainable.

It's a magnificent bit of administrative necromancy. The licence disappears, the murderer becomes unavailable to new customers, and his professional qualifications survive under three assumed identities. Chucky has essentially been dismissed from the company while his entire department continues operating with freshly printed name badges.

If you're buying Chucky exclusively for his perks, save your money.

Speaking of Killer perks, Dead by Daylight's Halloween Void Crystals have been causing some rather embarrassing interactions with Hex: Ruin and generator-blocking effects. Find out what's happening and what Killers can actually do about it.

What happens to his cosmetics and Prestige rewards?

According to Behaviour's official Chucky removal FAQ, additional purchasable outfits must be acquired before November 24. Already purchased cosmetics remain yours, but anything you haven't bought disappears from sale.

However, existing owners can still earn his three Prestige cosmetics and three perk charms afterward. There's no reason to empty your Bloodpoint savings trying to Prestige him before the deadline. You can continue progressing normally.

One caveat concerns the Good Guys Box Charm, which has separately worded unlock restrictions in Behaviour's FAQ. Don't assume every Chucky-related reward follows the same rules as his Prestige rewards.

When does the 50% Chucky sale start?

Behaviour is offering a final 50% discount on Chucky DLC, although apparently organising a farewell sale for a homicidal toy requires seven separate appointments.

All dates are in 2026. Related cosmetics are also discounted, although individual prices and availability vary by storefront. The universal purchase cutoff is November 24 at 17:00 CET (11 AM ET), not midnight. If you're planning to buy him on the final day, don't leave it until evening.

Will Chucky still receive updates?

Yes. Behaviour confirms that Chucky can still receive bug fixes, existing owners can continue receiving character quests, and streaming his gameplay remains permitted. Chapter achievements will become generic achievements, with completed achievements and unfinished progress retained. Previously unlocked content also remains available through supported cross-progression.

There won't be refunds simply because Chucky is leaving sale. Since existing owners retain playable access, Behaviour considers the purchased content unaffected.

Should you actually buy Chucky?

Buy him if you want to play as Chucky or own his exclusive cosmetics. His unique Killer Power and purchasable outfits are what you'll permanently miss under the announced removal arrangements. If you're only interested in his three perks, keep your money. Their effects aren't going anywhere.

Chucky may be losing his place on the shop shelf, but for anyone who already owns him, he's still perfectly capable of ruining somebody's evening.

About the Editor

I'm Niels Gys, founder and editor of CRIMENET GAZETTE. I write about crime, heist, villain, and horror games because somebody has to separate genuine criminal masterpieces from games that couldn't organize a successful mugging.

Outside the website, I'm the frontman of JETBLACK SMILE, a Belgian rock 'n' roll band that sounds like bad decisions played through loud guitars. Turns out writing about chaos, criminals, and morally questionable life choices isn't all that different from writing songs.

I started CRIMENET because too much gaming coverage feels afraid to have an opinion. Reviews become press releases, every game is "solid," and somehow everyone leaves happy except the reader.

Not here.

CRIMENET covers crime, heist, villain and horror games, with GTA Online as one of our main ongoing beats. Not the heroic kind. The kind where you rob banks, build empires, betray your crew, or become the monster everyone else is trying to survive.

I don't do review scores. The internet already has enough people arguing whether a game deserves a 72 instead of a 71, like they're negotiating a hostage release over a single percentage point. I'd rather tell you what the game actually feels like to play and whether it's worth your time.

Every article is built on research, evidence, and an unhealthy intolerance for mediocre game design.

Strong opinions are welcome. Invented facts are not.

Think less "trusted reviewer."

More "your inside man in the digital underworld."
