Black markets are whispering and digital operatives are being briefed — starting September 25, 2025, a new era of subterfuge begins in the world of HITMAN. IO Interactive has rolled out Season of the Dragon, and it comes with a twist that’s flipping the playbook on Elusive Targets.

Bruce Lee: Ally, Not Target

For the first time in series history, Bruce Lee is not the hunted — he’s your partner in an all-new Celebrity Elusive Target mission codenamed “The Infiltrator”.

  • Lee steps into the role of Agent Lee, infiltrating the criminal syndicate known as the Concord Union via an underground martial-arts tournament held in Bangkok’s Himmapan Hotel.

  • Your task? Remain in the shadows, neutralize threats to Lee, and ensure his mission succeeds. His victory is your cover.

  • This mission is live from Sept 25 to Nov 20, across all platforms: console, PC, mobile — and now PC VR / PS VR2, too.

In parallel, IOI released The Bruce Lee Pack DLC (≈ €4.99), bundling new melee weapons, cosmetics, and the “Dragon” two-level Arcade contract.

Expanded Reach: VR, Freelancer & Refinements

This season isn’t just about celebrity face time — it’s also a major systems update.

  • VR upgrade for PC: Features from the PS VR2 version are now ported to PC VR, letting agents step fully into the world of assassination.

  • Freelancer mode now fully supports VR on both PC and PS, expanding mission flexibility.

  • QoL tweaks: Two-handed aiming has been refined, weapon collision cleaned up, handgun placement upon mission start adjusted, and multiple platform-wide refinements in interaction and visuals.

  • Safehouse updates: A new gear wall in the basement to display DLC items.

Shadow Intel & Operational Notes

  • This is a bold narrative shift: a “celebrity target” mission where the legend is not the prey but the asset. For an agent used to the one-shot, kill or be killed nature of Elusive Targets, this flips the paradigm.

  • Failure is likely unforgiving: the classic “one attempt only” rule remains for World of Assassination users. Starter Pack users get a two-level Arcade version with limited retries, albeit with cooldowns.

  • The integration into VR and Freelancer mode suggests IOI doubling down on immersive experiences — expect further refinements going forward.

  • Seasonal content pacing is tight — if you're planning to collect everything, your play schedule will need precision.

Bottom Line

Season of the Dragon is not a simple seasonal refresh — it’s a narrative gamble. By aligning the legend of Bruce Lee with Agent 47’s shadows, IOI invites players to rewrite the rules of engagement. Combined with VR expansions, DLC muscle, and layered event content, this might be one of the more audacious seasons in HITMAN’s history.

About Me

I’m Niels Gys. Writer, gamer, and professional defender of fictional criminals. On screen only. Relax. I front JETBLACK SMILE, a rock ’n’ roll band from Belgium that sounds like bad decisions set to loud guitars. Turns out the mindset for writing about crime, chaos, and villain energy translates surprisingly well to music.

Here I run CRIMENET GAZETTE, a site dedicated to crime, heist, and villain-protagonist games, movies, and series. Not the wholesome kind. Not the heroic kind. The kind where you rob banks, make bad decisions, and enjoy every second of it.

CRIMENET exists because too much coverage is polite, bloodless, and terrified of having an opinion. Here, villains matter. Criminal fantasies are taken seriously. And mediocrity gets mocked without mercy.

I don’t do safe scores or corporate enthusiasm. I do sharp analysis, savage humor, and verdicts that feel like charge sheets. If something nails the fantasy of being dangerous, clever, or morally questionable, I’ll praise it. If it wastes your time, I’ll bury it.

CRIMENET isn’t neutral. It sides with chaos, competence, and fun.
Think less “trusted reviewer,” more “your inside man in the digital underworld.”

I’m not here to save the world.

I’m here to tell you which crimes are worth committing. 🤘
