Crime Scene Cleaner Stuck at 99%? The Last 1% Is a Bloody Nightmare

If Crime Scene Cleaner is stuck at 99%, don't restart the mission just yet. You might have missed a piece of trash, moved furniture that hasn't registered correctly, or encountered a scoring problem. Check which category is incomplete, revisit suspicious objects and try the available progress checks before sacrificing another hour of your life. Because apparently removing every corpse, scrubbing away the blood and restoring an entire building isn't enough. That cushion is three centimetres out of place, and somebody needs to answer for it.

Still wondering whether Crime Scene Cleaner deserves all this furniture-related suffering? Our Crime Scene Cleaner review explains why cleaning up after the Mafia is strangely addictive, even when the game starts questioning your ability to position a chair.

These are community-reported troubleshooting methods, not guaranteed fixes. Some cases have straightforward solutions. Others remain unexplained.

Furniture Stuck at 99%? Check What You've Already Placed

Furniture is particularly infuriating because something can look perfectly positioned without satisfying the game. In an April 2026 Steam discussion about Amber Alert, a player repeatedly finished with 99% furniture despite following a walkthrough. Eventually, picking up and replacing chairs brought the score to 100%. The player couldn't even identify which chair had been responsible.

Other players report furniture shifting after placement, potentially through collisions or cleaning activity. Start by revisiting objects you handled earlier, especially chairs, tables, cushions and anything you might have bumped while carrying equipment. Carefully reposition questionable pieces rather than trusting their appearance.

Imagine explaining that to whoever hired you. The bodies are gone, the blood has vanished, nobody suspects a thing, but unfortunately the living-room table has failed its annual performance review.

Think cleaning up one murder scene is difficult? No Body No Problem! puts three players in charge of concealing a crime while a fourth investigates. Suddenly, that missing cushion seems rather manageable.

Trash Stuck at 99%? The Missing Object Might Not Be Tiny

Check corners, underneath furniture, around damaged scenery, behind objects and anywhere debris could have fallen. Look above ground level too. But don't restrict your search to microscopic rubbish.

In a Party's Over Reddit discussion, a player stuck at 99% outdoor trash eventually discovered that a wooden door hiding a secret area was responsible. That's quite an important distinction. You can spend an eternity examining the floor while the missing object is an entire bloody door.

Players have also reported debris becoming trapped inside scenery or beneath the floor. Some received full trash completion despite inaccessible objects, while others remained below 100%. Reloading may help, but destroying random additional objects isn't an established fix.

True Cleaner Mode: Check Your Progress Before Finishing

True Cleaner makes these problems particularly annoying because it removes the convenient progress indicators available during normal cleaning. Fortunately, players have identified a workaround: leave one body undisposed, then attempt to exit the mission.

According to an October 2026 community discussion, the game can display the results screen with your incomplete categories before returning you to the level because a body remains uncollected. This lets you inspect your progress without deliberately finishing an imperfect run.

It's a community-reported technique, not an officially guaranteed feature, and platform or version differences may apply. Also, completing True Cleaner and earning 100% in every category aren't necessarily identical objectives. Player reports suggest perfect scores aren't always required to finish the mode, so decide whether you're chasing completion or perfection before restarting.

What If Nothing Fixes the Missing 1%?

Developer patches in April 2026 addressed several object-interaction problems, including collisions and objects being pushed through walls. However, those fixes don't prove every later 99% complaint is a bug, or that every completion problem has been resolved.

If you've checked the obvious culprits, consult a walkthrough for your exact mission, preserve your save where possible and consider a cautious reload. For persistent discrepancies, record your platform, game version and screenshots when reporting the problem.

A full restart should be your last resort. It might work, but there's no guarantee it won't send you straight back to 99%. And after several hours spent cleaning a murder scene, discovering that the only thing you cannot dispose of is the final one percent is enough to make you seriously reconsider your career choices.

Crime Scene Cleaner 99% Completion FAQ

Why is Crime Scene Cleaner stuck at 99%?

You may have overlooked trash, misplaced furniture or encountered a scoring problem. Check which category is incomplete before restarting. A 99% score doesn't automatically mean the game is bugged.

How do I fix furniture stuck at 99%?

Pick up and reposition chairs, tables, cushions and other movable furniture, even if they look correctly placed. Players have reported reaching 100% after replacing objects that appeared to be in the right position.

What if I can't find the last piece of trash?

Check underneath furniture, behind scenery, elevated areas and destructible objects. Some players have reported debris clipping through floors or becoming inaccessible. Reloading may help, but isn't guaranteed.

How can I check my progress in True Cleaner mode?

Players report that leaving one body undisposed and attempting to finish the mission can reveal the completion percentages before returning you to the level. This community workaround may vary by game version or platform.

Do I need 100% completion to finish True Cleaner mode?

Not necessarily. Player reports indicate that finishing True Cleaner doesn't always require a perfect score in every category. The exact requirements may depend on the mission and the achievement you're pursuing.

I'm Niels Gys, founder and editor of CRIMENET GAZETTE. I write about crime games, heists, playable villains, and crime films and television because somebody has to separate criminal masterpieces from productions that couldn't organise a successful mugging.

Outside the website, I'm the frontman of JETBLACK SMILE, a Belgian rock 'n' roll band that sounds like bad decisions played through loud guitars. Turns out writing about chaos, criminals, and morally questionable life choices isn't all that different from writing songs.

I started CRIMENET because too much gaming coverage feels afraid to have an opinion. Reviews become press releases, every game is "solid," and somehow everyone leaves happy except the reader.

Not here.

CRIMENET covers crime games, heists, playable villains, and crime films and television. We follow the criminals, the masterminds, the betrayals, and the magnificent disasters that follow when somebody decides the law is more of a suggestion. Horror gets a seat at the table when its monsters, murderers, or playable villains belong in our particular corner of the underworld.

I don't do review scores. The internet already has enough people arguing whether a game deserves a 72 instead of a 71, like they're negotiating a hostage release over a single percentage point. I'd rather tell you what the game actually feels like to play and whether it's worth your time.

Every article is built on research, evidence, and an unhealthy intolerance for mediocre game design.

Strong opinions are welcome. Invented facts are not.
