GTA Online Deathless Survival: The Graveyard Strategy and the Dumpster Wildcard

For GTA Online's October 29-November 4 challenge, Ludendorff Cemetery has the clearest community-backed Halloween strategy: defend near the church-side alley early, then circle the graveyard when tougher enemies arrive. Sandy Survival's Chinese restaurant dumpster may offer an easier solo route, but it has not been confirmed eligible for this week's no-death challenge. Last week, finishing a Survival was enough. Now you must survive ten waves without dying, which makes an otherwise successful run worthless if you get killed near the end. A successful solo strategy needs three things: a predictable firing position, a way to deal with special enemies and somewhere to run when that position fails.

Ten waves without dying is a lot of trouble for pocket change. Luckily, Rockstar's offering considerably more. Check this week's GTA Online rewards and money guide for the GTA$250K challenge, Slasher Clown Outfit and potential GTA$2 million bonus.
Sandy Survival: The Dumpster Defence
The strongest community-recommended solo position is behind the Chinese restaurant in Sandy Shores. Players climb onto a dumpster behind a tall white fence and shoot over it, using the barrier to block much of the incoming ground-level fire. A Combat MG Mk II is frequently recommended, with a separate weapon ready for helicopters. The fence protects primarily against threats approaching on the ground; aircraft remain the obvious weakness, and spending too long exposed to shoot them can undermine the whole method. A player confirmed the tactic worked after a May 2026 recommendation, and September and October discussions independently endorsed it. Take full ammunition, armor and snacks, and don't leave cover without an escape route. It's a magnificent verdict on Los Santos's arms industry. You can buy enough military hardware to overthrow a small nation, yet your best defensive position may be a restaurant dumpster. Somewhere, an arms dealer is quietly deleting his business plan.
Unfortunately, Rockstar's announcement only says to complete ten waves in "a Survival." It doesn't specify Halloween Survivals, but that isn't confirmation that ordinary maps count. Some players reported standard Survivals being restricted, and creator-map success reports concern last week's objective. Until someone confirms reward progress from a deathless Sandy run this week, it's a promising alternative rather than the recommended challenge solution.

Ludendorff Cemetery: Move Before You're Trapped
Ludendorff offers the best-documented Halloween approach. October community discussions recommend beginning near the alley beside the church, clearing ordinary zombies with headshots and keeping an escape route available. A player reported an upper-cemetery defensive position becoming overwhelmed around Wave 8, when camping starts looking suspiciously like choosing your own burial plot. As the crowds grow, players recommend moving around the cemetery perimeter, allowing dangerous enemies to follow in a group and turning to shoot only when you've opened enough distance. An Assault Shotgun or heavier weapon helps with tougher targets. Conserve resources early. Once a crowd starts closing the alley, relocate before your exit disappears. In later waves, staying mobile matters more than immediately killing every enemy. The goal is to keep the pack following you rather than allow it to split up and surround you.
Ludendorff adds risks that a conventional gunfight doesn't: poison-gas hazards, burning enemies and fast-moving animals. The normal radar and health display are hidden, although the weapon wheel can reveal useful information. Check your health using the available display, keep your escape route open and avoid stopping next to hazardous enemies merely to squeeze out another few shots. Rooftop shortcuts aren't a reliable substitute. Players have described reaching elevated church positions using the Up-n-Atomizer, but also report poison reaching those spots and enemies becoming awkward to hit. Being trapped on a ledge while poison reaches you is a spectacularly poor survival strategy. The moving route is defensible community advice, but no verified comparison establishes a guaranteed ten-wave solo success rate.

Why Cayo Perico and Alien Survivals Rank Lower
Cayo Perico forces players to relocate after Waves 2, 4 and 7, preventing one defensive position from carrying the run. Its special enemies include DJs that speed up zombies, Splitters that produce additional threats, Conquistadors requiring melee attacks and Panther Trainers that summon dangerous animals. Solo players have cleared more than ten waves, but every forced move adds risk.
Alien Survivals are another possible route, particularly Terminal's warehouse cover and pickups. But their later waves introduce armed security, law enforcement, military enemies, vehicles and helicopters. Sustained gunfire can punish even a well-chosen position. Current community evidence doesn't establish any Alien map as the safer deathless option.
Does Your Teammate Have to Survive?
Rockstar's wording doesn't expressly say that every teammate must remain alive. In regular Survival rules, a dead teammate can return at the next wave if someone survives, so the team can finish while individual members have died. Whether this week's reward checks deaths individually or requires a flawless crew has not been verified. Protect your own character throughout all ten waves, and don't assume a teammate's death is harmless until someone confirms it with the current challenge. For Halloween Survivals, Ludendorff's church-side start and perimeter movement are the strongest documented tactics. Sandy's dumpster becomes the first alternative worth testing if ordinary Survivals prove eligible.

GTA Online Deathless Survival FAQ
What's the easiest Survival to complete without dying?
Sandy Survival has a popular solo defensive position on a dumpster behind the Chinese restaurant. However, its eligibility for the October 29-November 4 challenge remains unconfirmed. Ludendorff Cemetery is the strongest community-supported Halloween alternative.
Can you complete the Halloween Survival challenge solo?
Yes, solo Survival completions are possible, but completing ten waves without dying is considerably harder. In Ludendorff Cemetery, players recommend starting near the church-side alley and moving around the perimeter when stronger zombies arrive.
Does a teammate dying ruin the challenge?
Rockstar hasn't clarified whether the no-death requirement applies individually or to the entire team. The safest approach is to keep your own character alive through all ten waves until the reward conditions are confirmed.
Do regular Survivals count towards the Halloween challenge?
Rockstar says to complete ten waves in "a Survival," without explicitly restricting the challenge to Halloween maps. However, ordinary Survival eligibility has not been independently confirmed for this week's objective.
